I hope you had a great weekend. I am here today with another random post. let’s talk about books. At the beginning of this year, I decided I would make this the year for self-discovery, self-love, self-inspiration and all around a POSITIVE ATTITUDE! How is it going so far? In all honesty, I have more downs than ups but i’m not giving up on reaching those goals. After all, it is a never ending journey, isn’t it?
At least these past months I tried my best to stay reading cool, self-empowered and inspirational books. I still read the odd novel here and there when it intrigues me enough. I have always enjoyed reading, though I did more of it when I was a teenager. the first ever book that I read and it marked me for life was The Innocent Man by John Grisham. It was a present from my dad and the first book I read in English. I loved every minute of it.
This is all about the books that have been inspiring me this year so far.
- The Girl on The Train – Paula Hawkins
If you have ever read, heard or watched the book/movie Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn, then I can promise you you will love this book. It doesn’t exactly fall under the positive attitude theme I am going for currently but as soon as I read the synopsis, I knew I would absolutely love it. I kinda enjoy stories about dysfunctional people who think in a dysfunctional manner and the leading lady in this book is really pretty dysfunctional but it is hard not to cheer for her to get her life back on track until the end.
- #GirlBoss – Sophia Amoruso
Any 20 something fashion lover knows about the brand Nasty Gal ( I think). I personally have never purchased anything from there but I really love the brand and I love if even more now that I have read this badass, honest and inspirational book about Sophia’s life, career, previous crappy jobs and most of all tips to become #GirlBosses
- Girl Code – Cara Alwill Leyba
This is one that I am currently reading. Keeps me company on my train ride into the city. But other than that, I am completely obsessed with the stories in this book. I am no entrepreneur (as of yet) but it motivates me to create something and leave my imprint on the world. Plus it is written by a Blogger turned Life coach and God knows I sometimes feel like I need one for myself. Since I cannot afford one for the time being, maybe i’ll just read all her books instead and follow all her tips. All things considered, I am enjoying it very much.
Next on my #readinglist: Making it Up As I Go – Marian Keyes
I’ll tell you all about it once I get to it.
Have a good week and Take care
